RAISING FUNDS FOR MAMA YASSUNARI
Cuban born and raised mama; Yasunari , and her baby Lebron.
Yasunari, welcomed me into her home and family the first day I met her on the Habana streets, i was walking and had stop and say hello to her perfect baby, Lebron, the cutest and calmest baby I have ever seen. From that moment on, she took me to her house to introduce me to the rest of her family. She opened up to me about her situations living in cuba, under the communist rules and her struggle to raising her 3 kids as a young mama.
After spending a week with yasu getting to know her more. I was so captured by her natural afro cuban beauty I asked her to photograph her.
I was so lucky to capture the way Yasunari embraces her motherhood in her akoia pieces I gave to her.
Im currently raising money for her, and percentage of sales on the Floradita dress will go directly to her in helping her raising her kids as a single mama in a country where living is hard.
